Everyone can relate to the stress that often comes with life, but people who have a loss of hearing, navigating life, and everyday routines can often feel even more daunting or overwhelming.

However, it shouldn’t have to, and it doesn’t have to.

With help and guidance from professionals such as myself, the hard of hearing community can begin to take advantage of all the amazing resources available to make day-to-day life more manageable and, more importantly, safer.

As time goes on, companies and businesses continue to develop devices and features that have been game-changing for the hard of hearing community.

Google’s latest announcement is a testimony to that.

Take a closer look at all of the benefits of utilizing the new option and what exactly the Google feature is.

Google’s Innovative Feature Makes Life Easier for The Hard of Hearing

Google understands what people want and also what they may need.

The company recently announced an innovative feature that will offer additional empowerment, protection, and independence for people who identify with a loss of hearing.

Sound Notifications is Android compatible and generating a lot of positive conversations and excitement.

As Google reported, “Designed for the estimated 466 million people in the world with hearing loss, Sound Notifications makes important and critical household sounds more accessible with push notifications, a flash from your camera light, or vibrations on your Android phone.

This feature can also be helpful if someone is unable to hear temporarily as a result of an injury, wearing earplugs or headphones.”

This unique feature would not only be able to potentially make daily life easier and more enjoyable, but it also adds a layer of safety.

Why Should the Hard of Hearing Community Consider Using Sound Notifications?

It is obvious that this technological feature is a reflection of innovation and progress.

When Google was explaining the feature the company shared, “Developed with machine learning, Sound Notifications works completely offline and uses your phone’s microphone to recognize ten different noises—including baby sounds, water running, smoke and fire alarms, appliances beeping and door knocking.”
